Albatross

In today's lesson we edited out filming from previous lessons, into a short film, based in the title/theme of Albatross.

Our story was of a young woman who was leading a seemingly normal, happy life. However, it turns out she is being followed by a mysterious stalker who ends up chasing her and the viewer has to decide themselves whether she gets away or not.

We chose this particular storyline because it coincides with the theme of Albatrosses being a symbol of good and bad luck, often being thought of as omens. the idea of her leading a happy life suggests the good luck, but the stalker represents the bad luck or the woman's omen/burden.

We spent the double lesson cutting down the shots, removing shots and connecting them to one another to form a suitable sequence and although we had little time left, we managed to put music and titles/credit into the film.

I thoroughly enjoyed the process of creating a short film. It's given me an insight into what the course ahead contains, and what it is like in the film industry (although this was a much smaller scale). I also feel that what i have done in the past few lessons will help with the rest of the course in the future, and I am keen to learn from my mistakes.
